Mental Sharpness and Metabolic Type

admin : February 16, 2012 3:07 pm : About Metabolic Typing, Blog

“We become what we think about most of the time.” — James Allen

Ever have a “senior moment”?  A moment when you can’t remember where you put your keys, parked your car or put the baby?  Do you wish you could focus more at work or school? Have you noticed that your energy just comes and goes?

It does.

It’s not your imagination.

Every single meta-type has a different time of peak mental energy they experience every day.  Saving your most valuable tasks for this peak time is crucial for your success in all aspects of your life.

In the meta-type in depth reports, I carefully explain when your peak times of day are, and lay out a plan for how to work optimally with the body you’ve been given.  When you work with your body instead of trying to force it into doing something, you find that life becomes easier and you are more often in a state of flow.

Friends, Wellness and Meta-types

admin : February 16, 2012 2:57 pm : Blog, Metabolic type and relationships

“A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.” — Unknown

Think for a moment about your friends – the people you care about – the ones who have “got your back”.  Friends have been clinically shown in study after study to improve our mood, give us the ability to conquer adversity and make better decisions.  Chances are, when you think about your friends, you don’t need any fancy scientific study to show you how important friends are to your well-being – and how important you are to theirs.

I’d like to suggest that now that you’ve begun your own meta-type journey to absolute wellness, you want to include your friends in this great new thing you’ve found.  Starting them out is easy.

Friends don’t let friends live without knowing their meta-types!  The FREE Metabolic Type test I promote on this website is here because it WORKS. My entire personal mission is global wellness.

Invite your friends to take the metatype test.

What is the “Mixed” Part of My Type?

admin : February 16, 2012 2:03 pm : About Metabolic Typing, Blog

Are you mixed up about the “Mixed” part of your metabolic type?

Your metabolic type is the result of an assessment of how your nervous systems (there are two in everybody) work together. There are 2 nervous systems – the Central Nervous system which gives our body instruction about what to do, ie., “I want to pick up that pencil”, then I do.

The other nervous system is the Autonomic Nervous System, which acts automatically and it also has two divisions which regulate the meta-types: the Sympathetic Nervous System which governs the 3 Accelerator types (which is action oriented) and the Parasympathetic Nervous System (which regenerates, repairs and is slower) which governs the three Synthesizer types.

The six metabolic types are:

  • Synthesizer
  • Mixed Synthesizer
  • Balanced Synthesizer
  • Accelerator
  • Mixed Accelerator
  • Balanced Accelerator

Which type you are refers to how much energy is pumping into your body.

If you are pretty much dominated by one or the other, your metabolic type – or “meta-type” as I call it for short – will be either Synthesizer or Accelerator.

If you have a 50-50 balance, but your metabolic test results indicate your body’s preference is to rely on one over the other, then you are a “Balanced” synthesizer or accelerator.

The 50% (or 49 – 51%) Mixed is when there is more equal domination of both nervous systems.

The metabolic test you took reveals how your body is performing typically and what your usual balance is.

Metabolic Type, Weight Loss and Metabolism

admin : February 16, 2012 1:42 pm : Blog, Metabolic type testing and weight loss

How many times have you told yourself, “THIS time, I’m going to really lose the weight”?

Most people promise themselves repeatedly – but little changes.  It’s not their fault!  Diet books are one-size-fits-all and although most of them work for a while, they are all unsustainable.

The only way to achieve consistent, lifelong optimal weight is to know and live in accordance with your own personal metabolic type.

That is, know how your specific body processes food and what kinds of food it prefers to process. Some blame their weight issues on a “slow metabolism”.  What they don’t know they mean is this: your metabolism is only causing you weight issues if you are not in alignment with it – if you don’t know what your  metabolism needs and take good care of it.

The way to find that out for your specific self, with your specific type of body, to achieve your weight loss and health goals, is to take my FREE metabolic type test – my “meta-type test” – available at NO CHARGE right here.

Metabolic Typing Saves a Marriage!

admin : February 16, 2012 1:34 pm : Blog, Metabolic type and relationships

What to do when you don’t “I Do!” Anymore?

Metabolic type testing saves a marriage!  David and Marge (not their real names) are Philadelphians in their late 30s, a time that’s normally full of energy, achievement and health.

But both work long hours at desk jobs, eat poorly and have put on significant weight.  Weight wreaks havoc on the body.  It decreases libido, lowers self-confidence, increases risk of disease and depression and heightens stress levels.  And boy, were these two stressed out!  On the verge of splitting up after nearly 10 years married, they actually made the trip to my Virginia clinic to be evaluated.

I gave them both the metabolic type test I developed for all my patients.

“Metabolic type” refers to how the body balances its energies, and it’s different for everybody.

It’s been just three months and David has lost nearly 15 lbs and gotten a promotion at work.  Marge said she’s losing weight too, feeling calmer, sleeping better and eating better, too.  She said they are planning to take a cruise together this summer.  Knowing and then living aligned with your own metabolic type transforms lives!  Find out your type here.

Metabolic Type Testing and Mid-life/Menopause

admin : January 14, 2012 6:52 am : Blog, Metabolic typing and anti-aging

Menopause doesn’t have to be tough!

Allison called me last week from New York, upset and wondering about bio-identical hormones – bHRT.  Her mother has been my patient for 20 years, but Allison never had time to come in.  Now Allison is in her mid-40s and starting to feel the twinges of mid-life.  Her gynecologist had just told her she might consider taking the hormones to ward off some surprising weight gain, mood swings, PMS symptoms like bloating,  irritability and a loss of sex drive. Her mom suggested she call me.

I could tell from her voice she was upset. “I’m 44! I’m not ready for this! Can you do anything?”

I smiled into the phone.  The number of women who call me about mid-life issues is astonishing.  Maybe we’re all so busy raising kids, working and managing a household that it takes midlife for us to think about our bodies and health for a change.

Thankfully, it’s never too late to start to feel better.

I directed her to take my metabolic type test and we got her started on the supplements for her type, and to make some meta-type appropriate diet changes. A month from now, Allison’s going to be amazed at how different she feels. Knowing your metabolic type is the first step to knowing how to handle your body through all its cycles and changes.
